Happy Easter 2011

Cole had a wonderful 1st Easter and Macy enjoyed her 3rd . . . WOW!! Its hard to believe that Macy has already celebrated 3 Easters. Crazy! It really was a special Easter this year for our first Easter as a family of 4 and now that Macy has started to understand the holiday. We spent time reading My First Catholic Bible that Cole received for his baptism and the storybook Clifford's Happy Easter over the past few weeks to prepare for the holiday.

Macy enjoyed dying Easter eggs for the first time this year. She liked telling us the color of each of the eggs. Unfortunately not all of the eggs survived because Macy also enjoyed crunching the eggs in her hands! Cole was a great spectator and enjoyed munching on some cheerios while watching Macy at work.

Macy, Cole, mommy, and MaMa (grandma) visited the Easter Bunny at the mall. Macy was a little speculative of him at first, but Cole LOVED the bunny right away and wanted to grab its face and pet it. That helped Macy to warm up to the bunny a little when she saw that Cole was ok with him.
The day before Easter Macy and Cole participated in a town easter egg hunt at Wilder Park. Macy had so much fun collecting the eggs, but her favorite part of all was discovering the treasures that were inside. CANDY!!

Easter morning was so special. Ryan and I woke Macy up to tell her that the bunny had arrived at our house. We brought in one of the Easter eggs the bunny had left and Macy shouted, "Candy." Instead of saying, "happy Easter" Macy kept saying "happy happy." Macy ran around the house collecting all of the eggs chanting, "candy candy . . .more candy!!" Cole enjoyed playing with all of the eggs after Macy emptied them out :) Cole had a lot of fun opening his own presents for the first time too!!

A highlight of the morning for Macy, Cole, and myself was watching daddy perform a dance with Macy's new ribbon dancer!!
After Bunny time and church we spent the rest of the day at MaMa and PaPa's house to continue the Easter celebration!!
