The Laux Family: Macy's 2nd Birthday . . . . Elmo Style

The festivities for Macy's 2nd birthday party started the day before as we ventured out the store to pick out the balloons!! Macy kept reminding me the whole way there that we were going to get "Elmo balloons" . . . Elmo and Balloon just happen to be two of her favorite words! When we returned home with the balloons Macy was so excited to start decorating. She had to find just the perfect spot for all of the Elmo themed decorations.

Next it was time to get baking. Macy precisely placed each of the Elmo cupcake holders into the pan for me. Then we whipped up some delicious raspberry-filled white cupcakes. Such a big girl helper!! When we finished baking, Macy decided it would be fun to decorate the house with the remaining 26 holders that did not fit into the pan.

On the day of the party, Macy woke up with a smile on her face saying "Macy's Macy's Macy's." She knew right away that it was her SPECIAL day!! Macy could not wait to put on her sparkle-ly Elmo dress for the big day.

After a few solo shots, Macy was ready to have her brother join her for some pictures.

Macy's excitement for her special day only grew as her guests started to arrive. As a surprise to us, Uncle Matt arrived in Elmo attire :-) Macy wasn't sure what to think at first, but she quickly decided it was pretty funny!

Present time was of course a big hit. Everyone nailed it when it came to picking out things Macy would LOVE . . . pretty much anything under the categories of GIRLY or ELMO are right up her ally these days.

We saved the best part of the day for last . . . CAKE!!!!! Raspberry filled white cupcakes, strawberry cake balls, and double chocolate cake balls. Yummy!!
